Dublin's Mansion House has been a centre of political and social life for the past 300 years. In the revolutionary years 1912–1923 it was the scene of many key events in the struggle for national independence and social progress – including the women’s movement, the fight for trade union rights and the movement for national independence, culminating in the establishment of Dáil Éireann and the underground Government of the Irish Republic, the formal address of which was the Mansion House. For the first time, this book brings these events together in this historic location.

Mícheál Mac Donncha served as Ardmhéara Bhaile Atha Cliath/Lord Mayor of Dublin between June 2017 and June 2018. He has written extensively on Irish history and politics both in English and in Irish. He is the author of Sinn Féin – a century of struggle, 1905–2005 (2005). He has been a Dublin City Councillor since 2011.

Tá Teach an Ardmhéara i mBaile Átha Cliath ag croílár cúrsaí pholaitíochta agus soisialta le 300 bliain anuas. Sna blianta réabhlóideacha 1912-1923 ba ann a bhí imeachtaí fíor-thábhachtach sa streachailt ar son neamhspleachais náisiúnta and dul chun cinn soisialta – gluaiseacht na mban, an troid as son chearta na ceardchumann agus an gluaiseacht i dtreo féin-riail náisiúnta, bunú Dáil Éireann agus rialtas rúnda na Poblacht, le Teach an Ardmhéara mar seoladh oifigiúil aige. Den chéad uair tá na himeachtaí seo curtha le chéile in áit agus leabhar amháin.

Ardmhéara Bhaile Átha ab ea é Mícheál Mac Donncha ó Meitheamh 2017 go dtí Meitheamh 2018. Tá alán scríofa aige ar stair agus polaitíocht na hÉireann i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla. Údar an leabhair Sinn Féin - A Century of Struggle 1905-2005 (foilsithe 2005). Tá sé ina Chomhaileoir Cathrach i mBaile Átha Cliath ó 2011.

140pp; half in English, half in Irish.
