An Clogán Magazine

The inaugural issue of An Clogán, a new politically unaligned Irish socialist republican publication, explores the theme of “The Republic” through contributions from across the left. Bringing together activists, politicians, academics, journalists and artists, the issue features voices including Gerry Adams, Vincent Bevins, Kieran Allen, Margaret Ward, Cian O’Callaghan, Claire Mitchell, Clare Daly, Philip Pettit, Martina Anderson, Bruno Leipold, and William Clare Roberts, among many others. Combining historical reflection with contemporary analysis, the issue explores how republicanism is rooted in the radical idea of self-rule, not simply as opposition to monarchy, but as the democratic and collective control of our own lives, our society, and our future
