Imeartas Focal

Imeartas Focal is a collection of Irish language word puzzles, the
first of its kind, created by Eoghan Mac Cormaic and just published
by pluid.ie.
The 200 puzzles are in the style of 'dingbats' or unusual twists on the spelling
or meaning of a word or a phrase hidden within the puzzles. The author says
that the book is 'food for thought for Gaeilgeoirí'.
The author has many years experience in creating Irish language games and
crossword puzzles but is probably better known for his recent books of poetry
and non-fiction about his time as a republican prisoner and for the research
into previously neglected aspects of imprisonment from Fenian times to
modern times.
While Imearats Focal may appear to be light-hearted escapism the author, a
long-time Irish language activist, has compiled the puzzles so that they can
be both entertaining and educational.
